商貿金融中心　

　　武漢一直是長江中游的商貿金融中心，歷史上流傳著“貨到漢口活”的說法。明末清初，漢口就躋身全國四大名鎮之列，成為“楚中第一繁盛處”。上個世紀初，漢口一度成為中國第二大對外通商口岸，中國四大金融中心之一。今天，這座商家必爭之地仍然商賈云集，千街熙攘。目前，全市擁有商業網點12萬余個，有3家商業企業躋身全國連鎖經營企業30強行列，全市社會消費品零售總額突破千億元大關。法國“家樂�！�、德國“麥德龍”、美國“沃爾瑪”等國際零售商業巨頭相繼進入武漢，推動了武漢商業貿易發展。武漢金融、證卷交易同樣活躍，中國人民銀行和一批國有商業銀行在武漢建立了區域性的機構，法國興業銀行在漢設立了分行，10多家外國銀行和保險公司在武漢設立了辦事機構。

Societe Generale of France has opened its branch band and dozens of other foreign banks and insurers have their ropresentative offices in Wuhan.
